The Port of Ponce has restored 1,200 lineal feet in the deck area and 20 acres for container storage purposes. The Port of Ponce is operated by the Municipality of Ponce, which advances the maritime traffic and is the biggest commercial port in the southern region. The maritime conditions of the area, guarantees calm waters due to the fact that it is located in the Caribbean Ocean. The entrance of the Port is about 2.8 miles long by ½ a mile of width. The intensity varies between 32-42 feet. The installation includes 8 decks, 5 warehouses and 2 terminals of containers..
